project Details
Wilson’s interior is graced by a number of murals and paintings. In 2010, a nationally renowned art preservationist, Carmen Bria, Jr., the Chief Conservator of the Western Center for the Conservation of Fine Arts (WCCFA), traveled to Wilson to undertake an analysis and evaluation of the condition of Wilson's murals, including extraordinary 1934 Public Works of Art Project (PWAP) murals. Bria prepared a detailed plan for restoring and reinstalling the paintings. WCCFA holds a respected national reputation in the conservation field and is actively involved in establishing, maintaining and promoting standards of practice, professional relationships and public education.
Wilson Arts, Inc. is extremely thankful for support in restoring and preserving these precious and historic pieces of art through fundraisers and generous grants from the Kirkpatrick Foundation and the Oklahoma Art League.
